The Islamic Council of Oklahoma (ICO) is registered as a Nonprofit Organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Federal Tax Code. It is a council of Mosques & Muslim organizations serving the Muslims of Oklahoma. Since 2009, the Council continues to foster the spirit and culture of “working together” at all levels in Oklahoma.
The Islamic Council’s membership covers all of Oklahoma. It closely liaises with the community and the various Islamic organizations - both now able to to remain formally connected, vibrantly engaged and actively learning from each other for the good of all.
The Islamic Council of Oklahoma serves as a valuable resource on Islam and Muslims in Oklahoma to the leadership of all faiths, public sector agencies and myriad community based organizations.
We, the members of the Islamic Council of Oklahoma will abide by Allah’s (SWT) command to “enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and believe in Allah.” (Holy Quran, 3:110), “and hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not be divided.” (Holy Quran, 3:103), and “and cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression” (Holy Quran, 5:2).
